The Denim Skirt

If you asked me what my staple pieces are, one of it would definitely be anything denim; denim jeans, denim jackets, denim skirts. Denim pieces have the undeniable ability to be the perfect base for any outfit, easily transforming an outfit suitable for any occasion, be it casual or a bit more dressy. In this post, I will be styling one of my favourite staple pieces; a Front Button A-line denim skirt.

One of my first denim skirts I’ve ever had, that I could remember, was in my first year of high school. I used to wear it all the time. To me, it was a much “girly-er”,  breezier option to the beloved standard denim jeans. It still is. The skirt I’ve got on has got to be my most favourite style of denim skirt because of its flattering  high-waisted A-line silhouette and its buttons running down the front, making it a little more than just a plain denim skirt.

I first saw this front button A-line skirt in Alexa Chung’s collection for AG and knew I simply had to have it. My wallet & reasonable self couldn’t justify getting a skirt with a quite expensive price tag, so I drowned myself in my sorrows. That is, until I saw this perfect baby in Zara and picked it up immediately with as much grace as I could muster. (Okay, there was basically no grace mustered, since I ran over excitedly and forgot people were even around until I looked up from my tightly grasped hands)

What about you guys? What are your staple pieces?
