The Time My Boss Styled Me

It is very hard to contain my excitement and not type in caps lock because, you see, MY BRILLIANT VITAMIN-OBSESSED BOSS, PUI PUI, TOOK MY BLOG PHOTOS TODAY.

She is a boutique owner, photographer and stylist. Being a triple threat, it would only go to waste if I didn’t play dress up with her and her camera.

To be styled by someone else, let alone my boss, is the most fun and interesting experience. We started with my most favourite piece from her shop, the off shoulder dress, and I got to see another way of styling the dress from my own.

With the dress as our base, we worked on the outfit from there. “It needs a belt," she says as she starts visualising the ensemble in her head. I nod, agreeing. “And something on your head.” I nod, agreeing. “And some dangling earrings.” I no - wait, what? I don’t really wear dangly earrings so there I was, standing and feeling slightly skeptical. However, the moment she put a pair on me, it was the perfect finishing touch that we needed to complete the outfit.

By the end of it, my creativity was enhanced tenfold, I had so many ideas and I was so inspired. I would love to do it again. I mean, I ended up getting the dress afterwards.

Have you ever been styled by someone or have styled someone before?

Blanketed in Pink

Hi Dahlings,

As the temperature gets chillier again in Hong Kong, I've been dreaming of the cliche scenery as the colder weather takes effect. Imagine a warm, cozy ambience, fragrant candles burning, hot chocolate by the fire, a book in hand and in comfortable pajamas wrapped in soft fluffy blankets on the sofa at home.

But, alas, that cannot happen too easily. When you're in a fast-paced city that demands to be alive and bustling with working people and students, there isn't a lot of time for my daydream to materialize. So, I've decided to bring it with me instead. For my cliche scenery "on-the-go", I brought a book in my bag for my commute, a hot chocolate to go whilst wearing a warm comfortable turtleneck and soft socks that feel as comfortable as my pajamas. To top things off, I blanketed myself in my pink trench coat. And voila, I've turned my daydream into reality.

And as Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I think the outfit fits perfectly with the holiday's theme. With my cup of hot chocolate raised high, here's hoping that you all have a Valentine's day as warm as I'm feeling in this outfit or at the very least, without sounding corny, show yourself some love and turn your daydreams into reality.

Knee-Highs

Hello Dahlings!:)

Yay! I'm totally on track for my uploads now!:D Here's another outfit for you:) I don't know if you've noticed but the past few outfits have no pink in them. You should be proud of me for venturing into other colors. HAHAHA, no, I'm kidding. I do wear other colors. I love wearing whatever color but pink's my favorite:) ♥ I remember for 3 straight years in high school, I always wore pink whenever we had free dress day (We had uniforms.). Elle Woods ( from Legally Blonde) would have been so proud of me.

Remember when I said I owned 6 pairs of boots. This is one of them that you haven't seen on my blog yet. This pair of knee-high boots were a very expensive birthday gift from my mom and auntie 7 years ago. Yeah, you read it right. 7 years ago. It just goes to show that when you invest in a really good quality pair, it really lasts a long time. Mine still looks brand new:)

I was not a "dangling earrings" girl before but this was the first pair I ever owned and it changed me. Ahaha, I love studs. I always wear studs especially the pearls I got as a gift from my parents but the fact that it's a peacock with its feathers cascading beautifully in an array of red, purple and pink won me over.

So, what do you guys think of my outfit?:)

Fashion Confession #2: Hanging with a Pin-Up Girl

      Hello again dahlings!:)

Firstly, please excuse the awful pun in my title!xD ahaha

If you already know me in real life, then you must already know how obsessed and how in love I am with old Hollywood bombshells like Audrey Hepburn, Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe because of the fashion style and makeup looks they had in the 50s. I even had "Old Hollywood/The Oscars" as the theme for my 18th birthday party last year.

For today's look, I decided to channel my inner 50s girl and take on an inspired pin-up girl look. These pictures were my inspiration for the outfit. *Photo taken from Vanity Fair :)

If I'm being honest, I was quite hesitant to post the pictures of me wearing my outfit because they're a little more provocative than the styles I'm used to. When it comes to showing skin, I'm not so much of a cleavage person.(If it happens to be noticeable, it was never intended!^^") I prefer more subtle patterns such as a low back or tiny side cutouts. Nevertheless, doing a completely inspired outfit hopefully excuses me from this rare display of boobage. Haha! Not that I wouldn't wear it, I would. I'll probably pop on something more conservative when going out but at home, it's pure fun not having any boundaries!

For this inspired outfit, I wanted to go all the way from hair to makeup as well. So, there I am carrying out my pin-up curls hairstyle.

I know you can't really tell that my outfit has tiny polka dots all over my two piece suit which is a bummer but it definitely has them!:)
So, here's me attempting to imitate the girl from one of the inspired picturesxD

And finally, the hair and makeup look!:) I loved Audrey Hepburn's look in breakfast at Tiffany's with her flicked eyeliner, full brows and her "my lips but better" lipstick shade that I decided to recreate it in my own way.

What do you guys think?:)
